rooted in the concept of systems theory, my work explores the relationships which develop between species in biodiverse ecosystems and how those relationships are mirrored in the urban environment.

In the symphony of day and night, the Mini Asym Hoops by Natalie Abrams resonate—a harmonious cadence of elegance. With seamless grace, they traverse the realms of dawn to dusk and into the nocturne—each moment an opportunity to showcase their timeless allure.

Crafted in the crucible of artistry, these hoops emerge as sterling silver manifestations—each curve, each line, a testament to meticulous craftsmanship. The asymmetry, deliberate and poetic, allows them to waltz in perpetual motion, akin to a dancer twirling on stage. Available in both a bright shine exterior or a brushed surface adorning the exterior which resembling a myriad of diamonds glistening under celestial radiance. The edges and interior, luminescent with a bright, smooth polish, mirror the purity of their composition.

At 17mm wide and 35mm high, these hoops epitomize petite opulence—a whisper in the ears, a murmur of elegance. The materials, sterling silver, transform into conduits of artistry, embodying the artist's vision.

In the dance of transition, these Mini Asym Hoops hold a silent promise—to accompany you through the tapestry of occasions, from the routine to the extraordinary. They remain, not just as ornaments, but as extensions of your grace and poise.

wearable sculpture

encaustic + mixed media

my sculptures emerge as vibrant creatures and delicate habitats, shaped through the timeless art of encaustic - an ancient greek medium rooted in beeswax. each form is playful yet precarious, embodying organic structures that seem to teeter between growth and collapse, exposing the fragile systems that lie beneath the surface.

the creative journey begins with hand-crafted wax paint, which is laid out into thin sheets and formed as it cools. these sculpted fragments serve as the building blocks for my work, allowing me to explore the intersection of painting and sculpture. the resulting compositions are sweeping and intricate, echoing the rhythms of plant life and the energy of imagined beings within a tactile, three-dimensional landscape.

this contrast between the lush, organic exterior and the stark, industrial cores invite viewers to reflect on the delicate balance between natural beauty and structural support, and to discover the quiet tension that animates each piece.

frontiers, discovery and innovation fascinate me. this new body of work exemplifies my experimental nature and pushing boundaries. with the use of ai, i’ve merged artistic macro images of my sculptural work with photographs i’ve taken in natural and urban environments, to create theoretical biological specimens. small or vast, i imagine them swimming in glacial ponds or the depths of space, silent, graceful, in depths of their existence.

these images are solely the beginning, either in printed or digital form. in the end, these pieces will take on a life of their own, swimming in colonies with their brethren.
